When it comes to laptops, we generally recommend finding a machine that suits your needs without exceeding your budget. That’s why we’ve put together our top recommendations for the best laptops for programming and the best laptops for hacking.

There’s no doubt that many of these laptops will be reduced during Prime Day, and the early offers have already started rolling in.

As expected, Prime Day has already started with heavy discounts on gaming laptops. To help you find the best deals, we did the work for you and have listed some of the best laptop Prime Day deals in 2024.

Desktops are incredibly versatile and can be far more powerful than laptops while also being more affordable (at least sometimes). There are lots of prebuilt towers on Amazon, many of which are also on sale during Prime Day.

Desktops are fantastic investments as you can upgrade and replace parts as they age. You can pick the setup you need and use your machine for work and for play, as desktops are often more capable than laptops for gaming.

Below, we’ve curated a list of some of the best Prime Day Deals on desktops this year.

Laptops and desktops will always need essential accessories like keyboards, storage devices, and headphones. If you’ve been looking for deals on software and other useful accessories, you'll be pleased to know that Amazon has plenty available.

Here are some of the best software and peripheral devices on sale during Prime Day. Take your chance to buy what you need while it’s discounted!

Let's start with a modern programming essential. That's right, in 2024, every programmer needs headphones! We found Prime Day discounts on Aftershokz for those who like bone-conduction technology. The sale includes their OpenRun and OpenComm styles, with discounts of 30% or more. 

Of course, not everyone wants to hear the sounds of an office while they code.

That's why we also looked for discounted on-ear and over-ear headphones. We found discounted Beats headphones as a major draw this year, with discounts of up to 50% for their on-ear and in-ear styles in the Prime Day Beats sale section. 

A great example is the Beats Solo3, which has a whopping 50% discount and a price tag of less than $100. Note that we expect some of these to sell out pretty quickly!

Or check out these Sony WH-CH520 Headphones, for example. We caught them at $38 during today's Prime Day sale. That beats any other price we found online.

And if you really want to turn any environment into your own programming sanctuary, check out the award-winning Bose QuietComfort 45, which you can currently pick up with a 30% discount at $229. This is an impressive deal for a top-of-the-line pair of noise-canceling headphones.

Regardless of the advertised sales on Prime Day, it’s worth checking to see whether any of these drop to lower prices during the event.

Our readers show high levels of interest in The Python Crash Course, for example. It’s one of the most popular reference materials for people getting started with the language.

While it lists at $44.99, we regularly see discounts on Amazon. We expect to see the price drop during Prime Day this year.

Every year since 2015, Amazon has held a two-day Prime Day sale that typically falls in the month of July. Although it was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and was held in June 2021, Prime Day is back in full force this year!

Prime Day offers all sorts of deals for Amazon Prime members, so you can expect to see all sorts of member exclusives on the big days.

If you aren’t already a Prime member, you can sign up for the month-long free trial to purchase the items you want during the sale. Most deals are available for those in the US, though you may find a few if you live elsewhere.

Tips For Finding Prime Day Deals

Want a tip or two on where to find a good Prime Day deal for programmers? There are usually plenty of excellent deals on Programming Books around Prime Day.
